How do I become a volunteer at Cornwall Manor?

It's easy to become a volunteer at Cornwall Manor. Simply email us at info@cornwallmanor.org or call 717.273.2647 or 800.222.2476, ext. 8295 to talk with a Cornwall Manor representative about your interests and specific volunteer opportunities. Every volunteer is given training and a tour of Cornwall Manor's campus, and a special appreciation event is held every year to thank those who so generously give of their time and talents.

Who can be a volunteer?

Individuals over 14 years of age may volunteer at Cornwall Manor. Younger children may be involved as well, through group projects with adult supervision, such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church and school groups.

What does a volunteer do at Cornwall Manor?

Residents enjoy an outdoor picnic

  • Transporting residents to activities and chapel services in the Health Center and personal care.
  • Reading to residents whose eyesight is failing.
  • Talking with residents who have stories to tell of their lives.
  • Leading a song, craft, slide program, or discussion.
  • Playing games, such as checkers, chess or cards.
  • Taking library books on a cart to Health Center or personal care residents.
  • Presenting a program on your hobby, such as bird watching, stamp collecting, history or travel.
