At Cornwall Manor, we believe it’s important to nurture the body, mind and soul. To do this, we offer a variety of individual and group fitness programs. The Wright Family Wellness Center at Cornwall Manor is fully equipped and offers something for everyone.
Pool and Spa
The therapeutic pool is used for arthritis classes, lap swims, aqua fitness, personal training, water walking and open swims. The temperature of the pool is maintained between 85°F and 90°F and is endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation as an excellent form of therapy. A water-powered swim lift assists less mobile members in and out of the pool and spa.
Fitness Center
The fitness center offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment, which uses air power to provide a quiet, comfortable system of resistance for relaxed, safe fitness training. The Keiser equipment includes three upper body machines and three lower body machines. In addition, there are three treadmills, three stationary bicycles, a recumbent bicycle, a rowing machine, and a Nordic Track cross-country ski machine.
Reasonable annual membership fees allow Cornwall Manor residents to use any of the equipment individually or to join one of the many group activities planned by our full-time Wellness Coordinator. Membership may include the pool, the fitness center, or both. Men's and women's locker rooms and showers are available for all members and their guests. Non-member residents may join activities on a per-class basis or use the pool or spa for a per-day fee.
Our Wellness Coordinator will work with members individually to develop a personal fitness program. His experience in physical fitness includes work with a wide range of ages and abilities. Michael is certified in CPR and Community First Aid and Safety, and has developed and led numerous groups in programs designed to keep people active and healthy.
The Wright Family Wellness Center is open daily for visits by appointment. For a tour of the facility, call the Wellness Coordinator at 717.273.2647 or 800.222.2476. He'll be happy to show you around and fill you in on all the details.
Bud & Jack Campbell LifeTrail™ Fitness Trail
LifeTrail™ is an outdoor exercise concept featuring equipment designed for use by seniors. It was designed and produced by a company called Playworld Systems, Inc. of Lewisburg, PA. Recognizing that more seniors are concerned about keeping fit, the engineers at Playworld, along with specialists in kinesiology, gerontology and recreation from Penn State, have developed a series of stations (pictured here) that involve different exercises geared specifically for older adults.
The ten stations are located along one of the walking trails on the Cornwall Manor campus. The equipment focuses on upper and lower body strength, stability, and a variety of stretches. Five of the ten stations also feature exercises and stretches for wheelchair users.
