A Tradition of Giving
From its very beginning in 1949, when local business leaders and church members purchased the 85-acre property from the estate of Mrs. Margaret Coleman Freeman Buckingham, Cornwall Manor has benefited from the generosity of individuals and groups that support the retirement community's mission of providing the highest quality housing and services for seniors and benevolent care for residents who need financial assistance.
Why Is My Gift Important?
Cornwall Manor's revenue comes from three sources: resident fees, interest and endowment income, and contributions. While the support from individuals has been tremendous, Cornwall Manor continues to plan for its future and the future of our residents. Over the past decade, Cornwall Manor's benevolent care expense totals $10 million. The Cornwall Manor Endowment Fund for Benevolent Care now totals almost $13 million, and the interest generated from the Endowment Fund goes a long way-but not the whole way-toward underwriting the cost of benevolent care for residents. It is the goal of the Board of Trustees to one day fully fund the annual benevolent care need for residents from the Endowment Fund interest. As we look to the future, Cornwall Manor will be constantly challenged to provide quality services for as many residents as possible. Your gift will help to ensure peace of mind for the residents of Cornwall Manor today, and for many years to come.
What Type of Gift Is Best for Me and for Cornwall Manor?
The types of gifts that Cornwall Manor has received are as varied as the individuals that make them. Gifts can come in many forms, including outright gifts, securities, bequests, and income-producing gifts such as charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities and pooled income fund gifts.
We've made giving easy and safe with our secure online giving form.

Can I Designate My Gift?
Yes, you can designate a specific use for your gift, including the Endowment Fund for Benevolent Care, general benevolent care, operations, capital items, or a use such as the "Honor Book Program" for the Cornwall Manypenny Library, the Ralph L. Weik Memorial Employee Scholarship, or the Cornwall Manor Society, which uses their funds for Health Center equipment and benevolent care.
All gifts can also be made in memory or honor of a loved one.
