Is Cornwall Manor a non-profit community?

Yes, Cornwall Manor is a non-profit continuing care retirement community overseen by a Board of Trustees and is in mission with the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of The United Methodist Church. Cornwall Manor is open to people of any color, race, sex, national origin, disability or religious creed.

Why should I choose a fee-for-service community?

The advantage of selecting a fee-for-service community like Cornwall Manor is that your expenses are determined by the services actually used. Many people find this structure more appealing to their personal financial situation.

What happens to me if I am a resident and I have exhausted my funds?

Cornwall Manor's Endowment Fund, which is currently $17+ million, provides benevolent care for residents that have exhausted their resources.

Are residents required to carry long term care insurance?

No, residents are not required to carry long term care insurance although many residents investigate the benefits of long term care insurance based on their financial situation and goals.

Are residents required to eat meals in the dining room?

The monthly service fee for residents of apartments and houses does not include any charges for meals. Residents may opt to dine in one of the two dining rooms available by making reservations with the dining room hostess. Lunch and snacks are also available in the Manor Café.

Is dining formal or informal?

There is no dress code for dining in either dining room or in the Manor Café.

Does Cornwall Manor have a library?

Yes, the Manypenny Library is staffed by resident volunteers and has a collection of approximately 3,000 books, in both regular and large print. The library includes current fiction and non-fiction books with many New York Times best sellers.

What activities are available at Cornwall Manor?

A wide variety of activities are available both on campus and in surrounding communities. Campus activities include cultural and educational events, various group exercise activities and support group meetings. Cornwall Manor is within several miles of various cultural hubs, including Mount Gretna, Hershey, Harrisburg and Lancaster. These communities offer numerous concerts, plays and art exhibits.

What healthcare is provided on campus?

Cornwall Manor offers a full spectrum of health services, including a Physician’s Center assisted living and a 117-bed fully accredited, Medicare-certified Health Center. All campus accommodations are equipped with an emergency call bell, which is answered 24 hours a day. Home healthcare, hospice and rehabilitative services are also available on campus.

What transportation services are available to residents?

As part of the monthly service fee, residents have access to transportation to shopping centers, grocery stores and medical appointments within a 15-mile radius. Coupled with this service, the public bus visits our campus based on a pre-determined schedule.
